Harry Hashimoto acted As chairman. · Highlighted by the ap- pearance of Chiyoko Matsuda, well-known concert singer, the Block 6F talent show was presented in the mess hall Saturday night. · Permits for group gath- erings should be secured at the police department three days prior to the e- vent so that a complete clearance can be made, said Tak Koga, assistant police chief, yesterday. · Mrs. Buelah Hemphill, clerk stenographer, is in Denver with her husband who is undergoing a minor oper- ation. · Tadahito Shizuoka was elected president of the night school teachers' or- ganization at a meeting held recently. Other officers are Ross Okura, vice president, and Shizue Watanabe, secretary. · Fifteen cases of chicken pox were reported by the center hospital last week. · Shigin and biwa classes will be held in 8H-4C from this week instead of 8H-4B. Classes meet on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. LOST: 2 complete forms of Personal Property Ship- ping orders on the road be- tween the administration buildings and Block 7H. Money Lost at Talent Show Isamu Kuge, 11E-12A-B, reported the theft of his wallet during the Block 6F party Saturday night, ac- cording to the police de- partment. The wallet contained $20 in cash, a WRA pay check for $19, and a clothing allowance check for $102, it was stated. Kuge c1aims that the wallet was in his overcoat pocket when he arrived at the party but he found it gone later in the evening. =VITAL STATS= BIRTH: To Mr. and Mrs. George Ozaki, 12H-2F, a boy, at center hospital, Jan. 15. DEATH: Tanikishi Nakamoto, at Butte county hospital, Grid- ley, Calif., Jan 12. MARRIAGES: Haru Mayeda to Makoto Sasaki, 6F-8F, in the cen- ter, Jan. 9. Tsutai Kaneyoshi, 12F-3B, to Tsumoru Tsujioka, 12F-3C, in the center, Jan. 17. TRANSFERS: Katsuichi Hirota from Topaz, and the Stanley Tsu- chiya family from Poston. SUBSISTENCE FEE CHARGED Evacuees who accept any type of employment other than in the project work corps shall pay a 67 cents per day subsistence charge, according to WRA regula- tions, T. Reade Hanson, principal fiscal account- ant, announced Saturday. Payment is to be made in cash to the agent cashier, located at room 10, north administration building. Evacuees who are in this work are asked to make pay- ment s voluntari1y. This will eliminate the neces- sity of personally calling such delinquency to the attention of an individual, stated Hanson. Cancellation of certain privileges will be made to those avoiding payment. SCHEDULE OF MAIL LISTED Mail is collected from boxes in the laundry at 1 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. on Saturdays, the post of- fice said today. Clothes Cause Second Fire Clothing placed too near the stove was given as the reason for the fire that broke out Sunday night in the apartment of Bob Hirano, 11G-4A, according to Fire Chief Jerry Sullivan. Dam- age was estimated at $17. Alert neighbors had the flames under control when the fire department arrived on the scene. Hirano was visiting with friends at the time of the fire. SOLDIERS FETED AT SOCIAL Nine soldiers were guests of honor at a party Satur- day night at the 6E rec- reation hall sponsored by the YWCA girls. More than 40 people attended. Games, dancing, and re- freshments made up the eve- ning's program. The guests of honor were Pvt. M. Yamauchi, Pvt. Ka- zunii Kawafuchi, Pvt. Tada- shi Hirose, Pvt. Carl Kawa- moto, Cpl. Janes Hiratsuka. Pfc. Teruo Sakata, Pfc. Ichiro Arimoto, Pfc. Hiro- shi Mitobe, and Pfc. Walter Sakamoto. Alice Suzuki and Hana Uno were co-hostesses of the evening and were aided by Emiko Oka, Jaine Oi, Helen Munemura, Toki Tana- ka, Kiyo Togashi, Fudge Nozawa, and Elma Amamoto. Others who helped arrange the party were Yoshiharo Baru, George Saito, Joe Sakakura, Sam Takahashi, and Mr. Abe of the 6E mess hall.
