Hereto- fore, the English classes have trailed in fourth or fifth position in number of enrollees. But with 265 persons,English classes have skyrocketed up to the top berth. Other classes battling for the top honor were arts and crafts with; 261 students and sewing with 218. WALTER, NIGHT SCHOOL DIRECTOR James K. Walter, a former instructor at Dowry Field, Colo., has been ap- pointed night school direc- tor here and has assumed his duties since Apr.29, according to Dr.Lloyd Gar- rison, superintendent of education, this week. HAWAIIANS WANT TO CORRESPOND From far-away Hawi, Hawaii, comes friendly letters from Mrs. Carolyn S. Hind's fourth grade pupils, who wish to cor- respond with Amache boys and girls of their own age, according to Shiro Abe, community council chairman. They will be distributed to elementary school children by Princi- pal Dr. Enoch Dumas. Mrs. Hind previously sent baby robes made by her pupils, many of whom of Japanese ancestry. In her letter, she wished the evacuees to feel that they have many friends on "outside" who are con- cerned with their welfare. Carstarphen, chief medical officer. Drs. Thompson and Car- starphen left for Denver this morning on a short business trip. Nursing consultant outlier land will return to Washington Mon- day. TWO RELIGIOUS WORKERS VISIT Rev. John A. Foote, a former missionary worker in Japan, and Rev.Merle A.Fisher, both of the Den- ver Council of Churches, visited the project Thurs- day, stated W. Ray Johnson, director of community man- agement. SEICHO-NO-IYE Unosuke Karatsu will deliver a sermon, "A New Heaven and A New Earth,” at the Seicho-No-Iye meet- ing tomorrow night, 7 o’- clock, at the 9H church.
