So whether you're a fussy puss, a mealy mouse, or one of those mental jobs, this particular little corner is for you to read--and pan--at will. We mean it. Any and all suggestions or comments for the future improvement (there'll doubtless be lots of room for it) of this col-yum will be honestly- and-truly appreciated. Kidding aside for the moment and notwithstaiid ing Thomas Decker's curt but classic observation that "women, at best, are bad," this department hereby as- sumes an obligation to serve in whatever small way it can this center's wimmin- folk. Young People In Block Party To promote further ac- quaintance among former Santa Anitans and Mercedians, the young people of 6E and 6F played hosts to their guests from Block 7H in the 6E recreation hall last night. The evening was spent in playing games, folk- dancing, and ballroom danc- ing. FOUR MINISTERS ATTEND CONVOCATION IN DENVER Through the negotiations of W. Ray Johnson, head of community service, and Her- bert Walther, junior high school principal, four min- isters of the Granada Pros- estant church last week attended the ministers' and workers' convocation of the Colorado Council of Churches in Denver. Mem- bers of the Granada dele- gation were Herbert Walther and the Revs. Takeo Agatsu- ma, Chiaki Kuzuhara, Harry Hashimoto, and Akira Kuroda. Business discussed in the afternoon session of the one-day conference per- tained to the Japanese sit- uation in the state of Col- orado. Among the highlights of the meeting were a re- port of the center's edu- cational program by Herbert Walther, and a panoramic report of the protestant work being done in Amache by Rev. Hashimoto. The problem of securing employment for the purpose of permanent relocation of center residents was also discussed. Catholic Study Club Started Catholic study clubs will be held every Friday at 7:30 in the 11K recreation hall, it was announced by Father Michael A. Maher of Holly, this week. Those study clubs are divided into age groups and are to open to the public. Catholic mass will be hold every Saturday at 7 a.m. Bather Maher will con- duct the services. ACTIVITIES FOR ADULT PLANNED Shibai and a phonograph record hour of Japanese music are among the activ- ities planned for the issei, it was announced by the recreation department. Physical body building classes will also be under- taken soon. Girl Scouts Take Recruits Girls interested in join- ing the girl scouts are asked to report to the 7E recreation hall any time between the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily except Sun- day. At present the scouts are taking up knitting and crocheting, and going on nature study hikes. A first aid course is planned. HATSUYE SATO LEADS CLUB Hatsuye Sato was elected president of the Block 6H girls' club organized Mon- day evening. Sadako Naka- no was named vice-president; june Nakano, secretary- treasurer, and Eleanor Ta- nita, social chairman. Mes- dames K. Higaki and T. Nishi- zaki are advisors for the group. Established as the pur- pose of the organization was unity, through which the members can get together for entertainment, cultur- al lessons, music appreci- ation, hiking trips, knit- ing, sewing, and to hear various speakers. A club name will be selected at the group's next meeting.
