pppjp m -Tha Fresno Slot* College Collegian- KSFR Will Begin Service Today Music, uews, weather and aporU will highlight the program sched¬ ule of KPSR, campus radio sta¬ tion, which will be on the air from 3 PM to 11 PM starting today. The music programs will fea¬ ture up-tempo style tn the after¬ noon, popular and rock 'n roll in the early evening and classical the last hour, said Gene Murphy, sta¬ tion manager. During the semester the sta¬ tion will present a wider variety of programs Including radio dra¬ mas, special broadcasts and Inter¬ esting campus interviews, said Murphy. All or the programs will be geared for the students 'in the residence halls, he explained. Also KSPR will broadcast nouncements of special programs and activities occur! tig on < pus during the semester. Tho campus station Is 6S0 on the radio dial. Entering Fresno Slate College—again or for the first time .may not seem particularly significant now. In fact filling registration booklets, standing in long lines aid paying fees will probably be thought of only as a chore. However, as you are waiting in line take time to remember that the insignificant steps of registration will lead to im¬ portant steps later. Remember Ihe peraonal significance gained in being able to enrol in college—especially Fresno State1 College. As is often said (usually preached) "college is an invest¬ ment" and as trite as it may be, college is an investment— an important investment for yourself. Statistics continually prove that college educated persons and especially those with degrees reach higher positions and have higher incomes than those who cut themselves short by dropping studies at the end of high school. This means that not only is it important to enter college, it is important to stay in college and get that degree. At Fresno State College everyone and anyone can enter and stay in college if his grades are satisfactory. Orientation activities began yesterday with an informal dance sponsored by Graves Hall. Today there will be welcoming meetings in the individual halls where the student officers* and staff will be introduced. After¬ ward Baker Halt will sponsor a patio dance for all dorm students. Tomorrow there will be a square dance sponsored by Graves Hall. On Thursday there will be an Inler^all picnic at O'Neil Park and Homan Hall will be In charge of tho arrangements. Friday* will be the all-school Howdy Dance. All women students living in the residence halls wiJI be allowed 12 o'clock slgnouts during orien¬ tation week, said Charles Wheeler, housing coordinator.
