Only in high schools and other schools where student' have been indifferent to purchase of student body cards and support of student activities have we ever heard of a paper going out of business about the first of May. It is highly possible that such a situation may arise hen In case it might happen, the board would be in no position t help The Collegian publish for the remainder of the yeai Only through a close check on funds available and increase advertising revenue can this be avoided. We are making every effort to conserve funds at every tun Yet it is not easy to compete with the high prices of printin and engraving and increased government red tape and n strictions, and STILL have your budget cut $500. We are not saying that publishing of the Collegian will cease in a month or two. From all outward appearances the paper is safety following its budget. The drop in number of student body card buyers indicates that many students quit buying the cards because they didn't have to. Whatever the excuse is, we urge all of you to consider this editorial as an appeal. Not only for The Collegian, but for the survival of all student activities.
