Tom has proven himself extremely worthy of the position he has held for a mere few weeks. Tom has consistently appeared at the I nter Bus i ness Council meetings and has received tull suport from the group. He is definitely the most communicative senator in ra tions toward representing the students of his school, but has focused the workings of his Public Affairs Committee toward student concerns on campus. The student said that there were between nine and 12 people waiting outside the locker room when the VIOLENCE continued on page 6 Enrollment adds volume to Music Department The sound of music has never been lovelier at CSUF. The university's department of music is currently enjoying its largest enrollment ever, thanks to an increasing interest in music and the growing prestige ot the department itself. An estimated 380 students are enrolled in music classes this semester as opposed to 350 students the same time Department chairman John Heard believes that more and more students are becoming involved in music because they want to be more than observers. They want to be participants as well. 'Every kind of music permeates our everyday lives,* Heard said. They (students) are confronted by it so often* that they are no longer satisfied with just sitting back and merely listening. This semester the department had Its biggest influx of freshman music majors ever. The freshman class is so large, in fact, that the department had 'to open up another (freshman) section to accommodate them,* Heard said.
