BACHElOR OF SCIENCI: DEGREE MAJORS
Majors are offered in the followin~ fields for the bachelor of science degree.

The ao:ounnnJ!. ma1or prepares for the California examination for Certified
Public t\ccountam and for positions in go\·enuncnral, public, internal, and general
accouuring
The agribusmess major prepares students for positions in businesses allied with
agriculture. J"hese mclude farm credit and finance, agricultural purchasing, processing,
and marketing, as well as management and office positions in agricultural
industry. The degree rcqlllres i2:l units including course work in both business and
agriculture.
The business administratwn maJOr prepares for positions in the fields of banking
and finance, business and industnal management, small business operation, and
personnel administration.
The marketing major prepares fot positions in retailing and merchandising; in
ad\'ertising; and in other types of general and specialized marketing work such as
specialty selling, sales management, agriculmral marketing, and market research.
MAJOR REQUIREMENTS
Each student desiring to major in a business field must select one of the majors
listed below. In the total units required for the major, bachelor of arts degree
majors must include a minimum of 27 upper division units; bachelor of science
degree majors (except marketing·) must include a minimum of 45 upper division
units. The general regulations and general education requirements for a bachelor's
degree must be completed (see Degrees and Credemiah).
Additional Requirements: Econ lA-B and Bus Ad 22 or Ivlath B or equivalent
arc required of all majors in the division; Math 2 is required for accounting majors;
lA 60 is required for marketing (advertising) majors. Recommended additional
courses are: Geog 3, Econ 110, Soc lA, Psych 145; and H Ec 43 for secretarial
administration majors. Demonstrated ability in the use of the typewriter as indicated
by a proficiency examination or by credit in a college typing course is also required
of all majors in the division.
