Loans arc granted on the basis of the srudem's fmancinl need, his educational pwgmm and his ability to repay his obligation to the loan fond. Most of the loan funrls provide limited aid to students on an emergency basis. However, larger oans arc available to senior and graduate students. These loans may be repaid after completion of the degree or credential work. The Fresno State College Association Loan Fund is administered by the Fresno State Collcg·c AssociaciOJJ, Inc. The other loau funds are held in rrust by the Fresno Stare College Foundation. Arrangemt>,.nts for project loans may be made by students through their advisers. Tbe K. Ara!~elian Foundation Loan Fund was established by the IC- Arakelian Foundation and provides financial assistance to senor and graduate students attending Fre-Sno State College. Loans granted from this fund may be repaid after graduation. Tbe Mary C. Bal~er Trust Fund was established by Mary C. Baker, a former dean of women. It provides small emergency loans to students. Tbe Hnl B entty Benefit Fund was originated by d1c Delta Sigma Pbi Fraternity and is sponsored by the fraternity, smdents, facu.lry and friends of Fresno State College. The fund was established in 1953 for the purpose of aiding Fresno State College students who, because of accident or illness, becQrne physically dis:~bled. and require immediate financial assistance. Grnms from this fund may be repaid when the student is able to do so. The Elizabeth Peterson Camiue Loan Fund was established by the Fresno Stare College Music Department in 1932 as a memorial to M.rs. Elizabeth Carnine. The fnnd provides emergency loans to students majoring in music. Tbe Ivan Cbapmnn Lonn Fund is mAde available by Mr. Ivan Chapman primarily for senior students who need financial aid in order to oomplete rbeir senior year. The Cl1i Beta Alpha Fratl!1'11ity Altmmi Loan Fund was established in 1958 by the Chi Deta Alpha Fraternity Alumni. P!·efercnce for th ~c .Joans is. given to senior students majoring in agriculture. Tbe Mrs. Harry Coffee Loan Fund was established in 1929 by Mrs. Harry Coffee to provide financial aid and encouragement to students majoring in music. Tbc Nnt Cobnn Lonu Ftmd was established in 1962 through a bequest from the esrntc of at Cohan. Loans from this fund :1rc available to undergraduate students. Tbe Edward Cribb M.emorial Loan Fund was establi h ~.;1'1 in 1947 by the Fresno Junior Chamber of Commerce as a memorial to Edward J. Cribb, a former Fresno State College student. Emergency loans are made from rhis fund with preference being given to veterans. The Hanford A. Crockard Memorin/ Lomt l'tmd was established in 1960 by the Northern California Motor Car DeaJers Association, l'nc. as a memorial to Hanford A. Crockard, a former president of the Association. Loans granted from this fund may be repaid after graduation. The Fresno Gem and lvlimral Society Lotm Fund \ as established in .1962.
