ART The study of various countries and their sculptures and crafts and the encouragement of student self- expression comprises the twofold method of instruction practiced by the Fresno State College Art Department. The aim is enjoyment and appreciation of a broad phase of art through such courses as costume design, pottery, drawing and painting, sculpture, composition and design, textiles, book illustration, photography and art history. Emphasis is placed upon specialized courses designed to assist prospective teachers whose interests lie in public school art. An art exhibit is admired. Painting pottery. John Ed.
