Receiving the Best Actor Award for 1959 for University Street Playhouse performances was NOBLE JOHNSON. Noble, a graduate speech (theatre) major with an English minor. Noble has had acting roles in ten major Playhouse productions; he was presented the best supporting actor award from the University Street Playhouse for 1956-58. He was a Western Speech Association member while at FSC. ALEX NORDHOLM has broken records as a swimmer for the Fresno State Swimming Team during his stay at FSC. Other groups which Alex was a part of were Varsity f, Pre-Med Club, Le Cercle Francois, Kappa Sigma Fraternity and the Water Polo Team. Alex who is a 1960 graduating elementary education major served as Kappa Sigma Historian this year. JOHN TINKER headed the class of 1960 when he topped his classmates with the highest grade point average his freshman year and as their sophomore class president in 1957. John, a sociology major, became a member of Pi Gamma Mu during this presidency. Also we mustn't forget to mention that he founded the "Semper Fi Club"— whatever that may be?! JAN MITCHELL plans to do graduate work in social welfare, her major. Jan has a list of activities from which a few will be stated. During her freshman year she was Vice-President of Freshmen Women's Luncheon Club—the next year Jan was Traditions Committee Chairman and Chairman of the Queen's Tea and Float. As Angels' Flight Preside n t, Panhellenic Secretary, and College Y "Campus Life" Commission Chairman, Jan worked for a psychology minor. During 1959-60 she was Delta Gamma Secretary and Women's Legislative Commissioner. Kappa Alpha Theta President, EUGENIE MADDEN, graduates as a retailing major this Spring. Eugenie served as Public Relations Committee Chairman, social chairman of Kappa Alpha Theta and on the Student Executive Committee last year. Eugenie held two other presidencies while at Fresno State*—President of her Kappa Alpha Theta pledge class during her freshman year and Triple "S" President the next year. 1959-60 clOho,a cWho DON ANDRESEN is a 1960 Fresno State College graduating senior with a major in dairy husbandry and a biology minor. Don has been a Dairy Club and Sigma Chi member for four years and was Dairy Club Reporter his junior year. He served as secretary of Sigma Chi 1959-60. Fall Student Body Vice-President HERB STRENTZ was Managing Editor of the Collegian and Commissioner of Publications during 1958-60. Herb, a journalism major, took first place in newswriting competition at the California Intercollegiate Press Convention against other California colleges and universities in March. He has been a member of Alpha Phi Gamma and several student body committees plus working as 1960 Campus Copy Editor. Receiving United Press International honorable mention, small American colleges, was BABE WILLIAMS for his performance this basketball season. Babe has played basketball for Fresno State the last three years and during 1958-60 on the All Conference Basketball Team as forward. Last year Babe was the second highest scorer for the Fresno State starting five. Panhellenic Council President 1959 - 60 was BEVERLY BITTER, an elementary education major. As a freshman she was on the Frosh Exec. Comm., a FSC Band member and received the Delta Kappa Gamma Education Scholarship. Later Bev was Sophomore Social Chairman and a member of Kappa Delta Pi, Phi Kappa Phi and Junior Exec. Comm. She also served as secretary of Tokalon, was a Phi Mu member and received the California Congress of PTA Education Scholarship.
